Palo trees are typically grown for up to 90 years. Fallen trees and branches of the Palo Santo Tree are left to dry and cure in the forest for a period of two to seven years before being collected (time for the resin to crystallize and reveal this subtle and magical fragrance) and used into ceremonial rituals. As Palo has gained increased popularity, many have begun to cut down the trees early, thus resulting in lackluster sticks. However we ensure that our Palo Santo is ethically sourced from families in South America.
