General Questions

Why DE LA JIPI?

Because we are rooted in art, soul care and spiritual/wholistic wellness. We cater to mind, body and soul care and prioritize healing through art and community. Our holistic skin care line is intentionally created using botanicals and natural ingredients and is fused with the spiritual properties of herbs, essential oils and crystals. Our crystal jewelry is cleansed, charged, blessed and uniquely made, offering one of a kind pieces and custom designs. And last but certainly not least, our intuitively made (and curated) spiritual tools are available to help you cleanse your mind, cleanse your space and uplift your vibe.

Through each part of our apothecary + botánica, we aim to be a constant reminder that you are worthy of taking care of yourself in whatever way you may need.

What are some of the values that you hold for your business?

Aside from mind, body + soul care and the belief that art lives within all of us, here are some things that we pride ourselves on:

  • We are a vegan, cruelty free line that ethically sources all of the ingredients and crystals used in our products.

  • All of our ingredients are organic, cold-pressed, raw, natural and unrefined.

  • We are a black owned, woman owned, Caribbean owned, Afro-Latinx owned business that caters to BIPOC, first and foremost.

Proper Care + Usage Of Products

How do I properly store my butters?

Our butters are best stored at room temperature, 73°F. However, if you are in a warmer climate or temperature range then your butters may need to be stored in the refrigerator.  

My butter melted in transit. Is it still good?

Absolutely! You can place it in the refrigerator to solidify it. Although, the whipped consistency will be lost, all of the holistic benefits/properties will still remain. Feel free to use your body butter as normal.

How long will my skin care products last?

The truest answer is that this depends on how well you keep and store your products. With the combination of oils and butters that we use, our products may last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. This is because we also pride ourselves on not using ANY preservatives in our products.

Things that may shorten shelf life:

  • Improper storage

  • Water getting inside product

Now, while we know you may want to keep your products for as long as possible, they are there to be used! So although a body butter, scrub or bath soak may last for 2 years, we don’t suggest keeping it for that long. Adorn yourself and do so often, you deserve!

May I use the skin care products on my face?

Skin care products that contain fragrance oils are not recommended for the face. This includes, Breeze Body Butter Line and Babe Body Butter Line. We have offerings such as Divine and Deluxe Multipurpose Oil that were specifically formulated for facial care. However, every person is different and unique. Do what works best for you.

Would you recommend your products for persons who are pregnant?

As our products are all natural and are intentionally and cautiously made, we believe them to be safe for those who are carrying. However, as we are not backed by the FDA, we will always advise that you consult with your OB/GYN and/or primary care physician before using our products.

Are your products safe for persons with sensitive skin?

As with most of these answers, it truly depends on each individual. If you find that you are currently dealing with sensitive skin, this is most likely due to the chemicals/unnatural ingredients of the products you have been using beforehand. Our offerings are chemical and preservative free, so although you should not be sensitive to them we definitely recommend doing a patch test (applying a small amount to a small area of your skin) with anything new you are introducing into your skincare/self-care regimen. Also bare in mind that switching over to natural products may result in your skin going through a 1-3 week detox (skin purging toxins) period.

Are your skincare products safe for those with allergies?

While some of our products include Shea butter and nut oils (such as sweet almond), we also have products such as Tranquilo Body Butter which is hypoallergenic and contains no nut products. We understand that the severity of allergies differs from person to person. For this reason, each product has a full list of ingredients that we recommend you go through before purchasing.

How do I care for my jewelry items?

Although made with gold filled, gold plated and brass components, jewelry items will wear over time. To increase the longevity of products please keep out of water and properly store your jewels (i.e in jewelry box/display etc). Keep in mind that most of your adornments are made with crystals/crystal energy so be sure to also cleanse and charge them.

Shipping and Pick Up Inquiries

Do you ship outside of the U.S?

Yes, we do. Please select international shipping at check out.

I’m in the NYC area and would like to pick up my order instead of having it shipped. Is this possible?

Although we do not have a pick up item listed on the site, pick up options are subject to approval. Please send us an email (info@delajipi.com) to further discuss.

What is your shipping policy?

Please keep in mind that we are a small team and most of our skin care products (and some of our jewelry items) are made to order. Fulfillment time is between 5-15 business days. Once your item is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email.

What is your refund/exchange policy?

All items are final sale; we do not accept returns or exchanges due to the nature and value of each handmade product.

I never received my order. What happens now?

Please note that once the item is no longer in our possession, we are not liable for any cost and/or damages that may have happened during transit. Once your item is scanned by USPS, it is their responsibility to get your order to you safely and with ease. If you find that your order has been misplaced by them, damaged or stolen upon delivery, you must reach out to USPS to rectify the order. Although we will not refund the order, we are more than happy to support/walk you through the process of filing a claim with USPS. COVID-19 Update: Please allow EXTRA time for items to be delivered.

I think I put the wrong shipping address on my order. What can I do?

Unfortunately, if the shipping label has been made, you must contact USPS and file a claim. Please make sure your address is correct before placing your order as DE LA JIPI cannot and will not assume responsibility for incorrect addresses. If your package is returned, you are responsible for contacting us with the correct address so that your item may be reshipped.

Subscription/Membership Services

I’m interested in a subscription service for DE LA JIPI products?

Yay! That makes us happy. While we’ve paused our subscription services for the time being, we do carry monthly > Adornment Sets < which features goods from the apothecary.

Is DE LA JIPI included in any other subscription boxes? Not yet, but we’re working on it!

How do I order a custom jewelry piece? Do you do custom body butter sales as well?

For inquiries about custom orders, please email info@delajipi.com. Currently, the DE LA JIPI Apothecary by Sky Britnei does not take custom orders for any skin care products.
