The Butters

Cocoa Butter - Native to Central and South America, Cocoa beans are extremely popular. We use raw and unrefined Cocoa Butter in The Basics. With its unique scent, the saturated fats in Cocoa Butter are extremely beneficial for healing dry and/or cracked skin. Cocoa Butter is helpful because it easily absorbs into the skin and is super hydrating! Please note (if you have extremely sensitive skin): A few studies have shown that raw unrefined cocoa butter may be too harsh for those who suffer from skin ailments such as Eczema.

Illipe Butter - Illipe Butter is extracted from the Illipe tree that is native to Malaysia and Indonesia. Although it is a hard butter, it has wonderful emollient properties, making it great for moisturizing the skin without leaving it greasy. It also promotes the elasticity and vitality for the skin. It helps to avoid skin aging and helps to combat against skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

Kokum Butter - We use raw Kokum Butter sourced from India in our body butters. It is heavily used in the holistic community and considered very unique because although it is of a hard consistency, it melts upon contact with the skin. Kokum is one of the best butters around as it promotes the regeneration of the skin and helps to prevent dry skin. It helps to heal ulcers and fissures of the lips, hands and soles of feet. Kokum also contains 80% stearic-oleic-stearic triglycerides and antioxidant properties. Kokum mixes especially well with other natural butters and is perfect for those with sensitive skin. Not to mention it is a non-comedogenic butter!

Mango Butter - In skin care, Mango Butter is quite often reached for because of its moisturizing essential fatty acids. It’s rich in oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated omega-9 acid; and stearic acid, a saturated fatty acid. These are ingredients that the skin readily recognizes, takes up, and uses to help add moisture to the skin while tightening and firming the skin. Rich in vitamins A and C, Mango butter is noted for adding glow without greasiness and for plumping the skin. It is also considered a natural sun protectant and helps to treat dry skin while prevents wrinkles and fine lines. Mango Butter is perfect for sensitive skin.

Shea Butter - Our Shea Butter is sourced directly from Nigeria and is 100% Raw and Unrefined. Full of Vitamin A, unrefined and raw Shea butter aids in the prevention and healing of numerous skin conditions. For example (but not limited to) wrinkles, stretch marks, muscle fatigue, and dermatitis. Shea Butter is also noted for protecting the skins natural oils and replenishing the skin, particularly after sun exposure. Continued use of Shea Butter helps with elasticity of the skin.

Abyssian Oil -

Apricot Oil - Apricot Oil is great for those with oily to combination skin. It is a light oil that immediately absorbs into the skin, leaving your skin feeling hydrated but not greasy. If you suffer from eczema or psoriasis, this oil may help a great deal as it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe the skin. Apricot oil holds anti-aging properties as well. Because of it's light nature, its great for tightening and toning the skin and providing a youthful glow. Apricot oil also contains Omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin K and vitamin E oils which also helps prevent and treat dark circles and well as preventing sun damage.

Argan Oil -

Babassu Oil - Sourced from Brazil, our cold pressed Babassu Oil is an excellent skin emollient that is often used for all skin types. It easily absorbs into the skin, making it soft and smooth and keeping it hydrated. The duality of Babassu Oil can make dry and flaky skin smooth and soft; while it can make greasy skin appear healthy and lustrous. The oil, when applied on the skin, balances the natural oils of the skin.

Coconut Oil - Coconut oil has become extremely popular in skincare. It has a vast variety of health benefits that include skin care (obvi!) hair care, digestion and even immunity against different infections and diseases. Coconut oil is considered a massage oil that promotes tranquility and muscle relaxation. It is an effective moisturizer for all skin types and very little people suffer from side effects due to this oil. It aids in the prevention of skin dryness, flaking, wrinkles etc. It also helps with keeping the skin evenly toned.

Hempseed Oil - Hempseed oil is rich in vitamins A and E. It is also high in antioxidants, which are elements that prevent or slow cell damage. The moisturizing properties of the oil are one reason for adding it to these products. It also adds vitamin D to the skin, allowing the absorption of calcium that is needed for soft, smooth skin. Hemp seed oil has a comodogenic rating of 0 which makes it a great moisturizer for both oily and acne prone skin types.

Jojoba Oil -

Pumpkin Seed Oil - This oil fights acne from the inside out due to its rich zinc and selenium content. It’s know to hydrate, renew, and increase the firmness of the skin while fighting acne causing bacteria and preventing scars. Suitable for most skin types and has a low change of clogging pores.

Red Raspberry Oil -

Safflower Oil - Safflower oil contains lubricant properties that prompt the skin to retain water and moisture. They properties in Safflower Oil combine with the sebum in human skin to unclog the pores and reduce rashes and acne. They also facilitate the regeneration of new skin cells, leaving you look younger and gorgeous. Safflower Oil consists primarily of linoleic acid, an omega-6 that is packed with essential vitamins. It also helps to prevent dryness and roughness and also removes dirt and oil. Its content makes safflower oil a key treatment for issues including eczema, psoriasis and acne.

Sweet Almond Oil - Sweet Almond Oil derives from Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean region. This oil is rich in Vitamin E, proteins, potassium and zinc. All of these amazing properties are exactly why Sweet Almond is good for our skin, hair and heart. Sweet Almond grants smooth skin and aids in the deep cleansing of the skin, eczema and psoriasis, muscle aches and the removal of dark circles.

Tamanu Oil - Tamanu oil is typically used to resolve skin ailments such as stretchmarks, sunburns, psoriasis etc. It helps aid in the regeneration of skin. In addition, tamanu oil is said to promote the healing of burns, blisters, cuts, and scrapes. Some people also use tamanu oil to soothe insect bites.

Vitamin E - Vitamin E Oil is both a nutrient as well as an antioxidant.
