The main ingredient in The Basic body butter is Shea Butter. Our Shea Butter is sourced directly from Nigeria and is 100% Raw and Unrefined. Full of Vitamin A, unrefined and raw Shea butter aids in the prevention and healing of numerous skin conditions. For example (but not limited to) wrinkles, stretch marks, muscle fatigue, and dermatitis. Shea Butter is also noted for protecting the skins natural oils and replenishing the skin, particularly after sun exposure. Continued use of Shea Butter helps with elasticity of the skin.
Native to Central and South America, Cocoa beans are extremely popular. We use raw and unrefined Cocoa Butter in The Basics. With its unique scent, the saturated fats in Cocoa Butter are extremely beneficial for healing dry and/or cracked skin. Cocoa Butter is helpful because it easily absorbs into the skin and is super hydrating! Please note (if you have extremely sensitive skin): A few studies have been shown that raw unrefined cocoa butter may be too harsh for those who suffer from skin ailments such as Eczema.
We also use the following ingredients in The Basics:
Coconut Oil ∙ Coconut oil has become extremely popular in skincare. It has a vast variety of health benefits that include skin care (obvi!) hair care, digestion and even immunity against different infections and diseases. Coconut oil is considered a massage oil that promotes tranquility and muscle relaxation. It is an effective moisturizer for all skin types and very little people suffer from side effects due to this oil. It aids in the prevention of skin dryness, flaking, wrinkles etc. It also helps with keeping the skin evenly toned.
Sweet Almond Oil ∙ Sweet Almond Oil derives from Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean region. This oil is rich in Vitamin E, proteins, potassium and zinc. All of these amazing properties are exactly why Sweet Almond is good for our skin, hair and heart. Sweet Almond grants smooth skin and aids in the deep cleansing of the skin, eczema and psoriasis, muscle aches and the removal of dark circles.
Vitamin E Oil ∙ Vitamin E Oil is both a nutrient as well as an antioxidant. As an antioxidant, it is known for protecting the body from free radicals that can wreak havoc on our health, both internally and externally. It aids with the healing and prevention of various skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis. It also helps with preventing and minimizing scars.
Rose Water (Optional) ∙ Rose Water has many wondrous properties. It helps maintain the skin's pH balance and cleanses while also controlling excess oil production. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, dermatitis and eczema. Rose water helps hydrate, revitalize and moisturize the skin and helps with healing scars and wounds. Probably the most popular benefit is that Rose Water acts as a toner.
